SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2010 - UGA Marine Extension Service Aquarium
The Sunsplash Outdoor Fitness Festival combines a walk, cycle & kayak event all on one day to benefit the American Diabetes Association. A morning of vigorous physical activity for walkers, cyclists and paddlers culminates in a family festival featuring live music, health vendors, outfitters and ends with a healthy feast.
Red shirts honoring people living with diabetes will be worn by participants in the three sports: Red Striders, Red Riders and Red Rowers. The red shirts draw attention to what is an otherwise invisible disease and underscores the pervasiveness of the disease and the diversity of those affected.
Registration Opens at 8:00am / Ride Starts 9:00am – 20, 9:15am – 40 & 11:00am – 60 mile
The Association’s cycling event will feature either a 20-mile, 40-mile or 60-mile ride throughout Skidaway Island and The Landings. This event is open to avid cyclists and newcomers to the sport.
